At last, Etta James sings it best

by Angie

This fourth of July holiday was quite possibly one of the most peaceful moments of this past school year. I was able to spend time with some of my closest friends and just relax. Among my activities included visiting Discovery Green to its full extent (playing bocce ball and eating at both restaurants). I was also able to catch Wall-E, and after you watch the movie (because I’m encouraging you to), you’ll think this is one of the best you’ve seen this year.

Now I agree if Wall-E was a person he’d be an emo nerd, luckily he is a robot who’s unwavering ardor for Eve and the greater good makes you root him on. I think what makes this movie so special is the simple emotions that are expressed by Wall-E and Eve that I didn’t mind that the majority of the movie involved no spoken word (unless you count “Eeeeeve”, “Wall-EEE!”, “plant” and “directive?”).

Unfortunately like all good holidays, they must come to an end. As much as I didn’t want my weekend to be over, it’s good to move forward. But maybe, just maybe I can see Wall-E again.
