Seriously, this is when you realize your BA in geography has gone to waste (but to be fair I was not a political geographer but an earth scientist…)
Kristan: California is too far/expensive.
Angie: Really? Aren’t you in the middle?
Angie: Or is New York/Boston closer?
Kristan: Haha not middle. I thought middle too. We’re WAY east.
Kristan: Way East-er than I thought.
Angie: Really?
Angie: Oh man, map time!
(I really do pull up a map of the United States.)
Angie: YOU ARE EAST! wOw.
I’m telling you, it’s because we’re from TX. We can barely even keep track of our own state, it’s so big! How can we be expected to know the rest of the country? :P
