BFFs Angie and Kristan blog about anything, everything, and sometimes even nothing.

Call me a sucker

by Angie

I know you’ve seen them on the cheerleaders’ and high schoolers’ feet, and now I have to admit I want them too. A pair of Sperry on my feet, how chic and comfortable for my walks to campus. My eye is on the Bluefish 2-Eye Plaid Boat Shoe in linen oat/plaid. Plus they can handle the random downpours because let me tell you it’s not cute slipping on flip flops.

Hey, at least I never gave into the Nike shorts, although I’m going to need some new running apparel…

Thoughts

by Angie

Hermann Hesse said,

If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself.
What is not part of ourselves does not bother us.

And something from Ingrid Bergman,

A kiss is a lovely trick, designed by nature, to stop words
when speech becomes superfluous.

A girl can wonder

by Angie

Maybe Jane Austen did ruin it for the guys. Maybe they will never be able to compete how the film industry brought the characters to life. But I have to wonder, does someone with Mr. Darcy’s charm, Edward Ferrars’s moral character or Captain Wentworth’s ardor really exist?

Perhaps if this gentleman should exist, he could relieve me of the bug that fell through my fireplace and into my living room. For now, I must be content with Masterpiece Classic and my own bug-catching devices.

Me too

by Kristan

I should have taken a picture of it, but like Angie I’m feeling accomplished because I just cooked myself a delicious dinner using my mom’s recipes. Chicken legs (boiled), bok choy (boiled after in the chicken broth), and white rice. It was yummy, and I didn’t hurt myself! Score: Kristan 1, Cooking 243.

I bet I could have even plated it to look pretty…

Haha, I’ve been watching too much Next Food Network Star!

Feeling accomplished again

by Angie

Played tennis with my friend Xilu today, and after instructing me on my grip and swinging motion, I have to say I’ve improved immensely. There’s spin on my ball and I have more control. Watch out Maria Sharapova!

Also my friend Geo and I rented Charlie Bartlett and I liked this quirky high school (I guess think John Hughes-ish) film. Anton Yelchin is adorable and very versatile, and I just discovered that it was Tyler Hilton (yes the singer) who plays the angsty Murph.

Now I must bid you adieu and return to reading.
