“Junk food” is awesome when you’re an “adult”
When you grow up and become an adult who makes her own purchasing decisions, you get to buy your own junk food. (Or as O says, hey it’s your money.) Let me tell you what a delight this is, almost like mini-celebrations. Thus I came out of Central Market with some extraneous items including Rishi Masala Chai, Newtree Refresh (mint) chocolate and silver almonds.

Yes those are silver jordan almonds. Haven’t you ever bought things on impulse? They’re apparently a traditional wedding favor (although they don’t taste very good). See you learn something new every day.
A reading from class (topic was ELM & Cognitive Response Theory) dealt with the idea of “psychological furniture,” as Malcolm Gladwell puts it. He suggests that the transformation in life we undergo with our philosophy is supported by products. While they weren’t life altering, these purchases definitely made me giddy. I suppose it’s a bit sad to think happiness comes from material items, however, it’s not that materials necessarily makes you happy but perhaps enhance your mood. In an industry this criticized, as Stacey says, we have to use or Mean Girls powers for good. So I say if we help make someone even just a wee bit happier, I’m down with that.

“I suppose it’s a bit sad to think happiness comes from material items…”
Never, EVER apologize for feeling happy from chocolate.
I demand that you stop what you’re doing immediately and swear on both your 2nd place plaque and your new MacBook Pro that you will never do that again.
And don’t forget to ask forgiveness from the Godesses of Chocolate.
