		<description>I was going to post on Ike too, but I did get in touch with my parents and some friends and for the most part, aside from some minor damage (like a downed fence) there wasn&#039;t much structural damage where we are. (I think your boat in Kemah might be in trouble, I saw the Dairy Queen and boats everywhere on the news. Galveston looked pretty bad too.) The biggest problem right now is no power, and the uncertainty of how long that will last. 

Austin is missing the storm, but we actually needed the rain. Everything for Saturday was postponed.

The reasoning why it&#039;s stubbornness with people staying behind is that when there is a mandatory evacuation, if you need assistance, you should be able to receive help (especially if medical). The media happens to also broadcast stupidity. Of course, the shelters aren&#039;t always the best situation to flee to.</description>
