BFFs Angie and Kristan blog about anything, everything, and sometimes even nothing.

What I really need is a free housekeeper, now that’s a relationship I can keep

by Angie

I actually feel quite accomplished because I found time to wash my dishes, do laundry and finish my ironing. (Since I’ve been in graduate school, my iron has been my best friend. It’s a little OCD, I know.) But after I’ve “kept house”, I’m back to an endless parade of reading and writing.

And I’m always tired. Because you take school and add that with your social life, there’s just no time for sleep. There’s no time for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy what I’m doing: hanging on rooftops and dancing with friends, ego-tripping as a TA, and giving a $10,000 grant to an arts nonprofit as part of my philanthropy class. It’s pretty awesome. But sometimes I just want to lay outside and breathe (unfortunately my thought porch never came into fruition). My time for reflection is talking with my best friends, admittedly because I don’t have energy to uncover how I feel.

Maybe when you’re at a point in your life where you are confused as to who you are and what you want to do, you need time to refocus on your passions and on being a better person.

My life seems pretty perfect that I just keep layering on what seems right. Sometimes I wonder if I’m just ignoring what I really want. A question that I still can’t answer.

Maybe I just need cookies and full on ice cream (lol)!
