WHY 2 COLUMNS?
On the left side of our blog, we post thoughtful things - deep, funny, or personal. On the right side, we post beautiful things - often music, pictures, and video that we like.
Think of it as brain food + eye candy.
We think each is important in its own way, so we make sure you can easily see both!
Au Revoir Simone is an awesome group of three girls from Brooklyn, and actually the reason I was even interested at first was because I loved their web site. But after listening to their songs, I admit, they’re kind of cheerful, catchy yet different. I personally love Stay Golden and The Lucky One:
So let the sunshine
So let the sunshine
So let the sunshine let it come
To show us that tomorrow is eventual
We know it when the day is done
Simple Finds is running a great giveaway for some fabulous dresses from Layers Clothing. If you like what you see here, you should head to the giveaway before Dec 2nd and enter. The worst that can happen is you get a free dress!
The Greta is on the left, and I put myself in the running for the Judith, pictured right.
Believe it or not, at age 23, I have never once gone shopping on Black Friday. Not until today, that is.
My boyfriend, lover of all things on sale, decided that Black Friday was an American tradition I needed to experience at least once. So this morning we braved the crowds at Greece Ridge Mall in his hometown of Rochester, NY, to see what awesome deals we could find.
(In the spirit of full disclosure, we also did some pre-Black Friday research and shopping online last night.)
In addition to some fancy schmany pots and pans that Andy has been craving for years — have I mentioned how WONDERFUL it is to have a boyfriend who loves to cook? — and new bedsheets as an early Xmas present from my mother, I splurged on these fun little items.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, from Angie and Kristan! Hope you’re having a wonderful day, eating lots of turkey, and watching the Macy’s parade!
