23. Who knows how the brain works.

When I was in elementary school, I used to read the most random things in the Encyclopedia Britannica. For instance, I remember that I once had a flag infatuation. I would open up to that section (and these are heavy books when you’re little) and spend quite amount of time just studying each flag.  For some reason I really liked Brazil, Latvia and I believe Greece (clearly there is no underlying theme among these).  For my favorites I would replicate them through drawing or other crafty measures.  I also remember spending a lot of time drawing the United States flag because it would bug the crap out of me that I couldn’t get the stripes and stars just right. (Just never quite had the right technique.)

My knowledge in flags are lost, but I like to think this interest led me to appreciate other things others might overlook.
