Umlauf Sculpture Garden and the lovely irises

by Angie

Umlauf Sculpture Garden was another place I’ve always wanted to visit, and it’s a nice little stroll through a beautiful small park. Plus student visits are only $1.

Hamilton Pool picnics are the best!

by Angie

I think in the middle of the week on a lovely day in March is quite possibly the best time to venture out to Hamilton Pool. There’s hardly anyone there and you can enjoy a lovely picnic by the water. Or if you’re me, jump in and chase guppies.

The difference one person makes

by Angie

For the few people out there wondering why I have been silent (thank you Kristan for keeping us updated), it’s because this was my birthday week (that’s right, I get a whole week :) ) and a special single-initial-referenced friend came into town. I think we crammed in every outdoors-y/environmental and eating activity we could for it too. Let’s see we had a picnic at Hamilton Pool, frolicked at Umlauf Sculpture Garden, recycling at Ecology Action and the electronics drive on campus, planted trees for the CEC (yes, our UT environmental group), and much much more. I’m surprised my classes got in there.

Having one of my best friends visit always helps me realize how lucky I am to have such great close friends. Truthfully I have been feeling down lately, but it’s nice to know that however dreary this week might have been, there will always be someone to put a smile on my face. All I needed was one person to give me a hug and everything was great!

Quite possibly one of the best (indirect) birthday presents were the three recycling containers that showed up on the day of my birthday in our complex. I had brought this up in our homeowner’s meeting (plus I figured out how to fix a litter problem), and I’m really glad I was vocal about it because you never know who is listening and what positive changes you can make.

I will have more pictures soon, but for now, please enjoy a lovely picture of us (besides these figurines, I also got the DVD as a gift!). P.S. I’m the one with the fiery attitude.

Vanity Fair does West Side Story in photos

by Kristan

Geez, thanks to my recent Twilight obsession, I’ve discovered that Vanity Fair does some AWESOME photo shoots. This one features Angie’s boyfriend (hehe) Rodrigo Santoro, in a photographic remake of West Side Story:

Also features J. Lo, Camilla Belle, a little bit of Robert Pattinson, and several others.
