BFFs Angie and Kristan blog about anything, everything, and sometimes even nothing.

You were wrong, you were right

by Angie

I know I’m one who believes in this “idealized pure love” that surpasses everything, but let’s be realistic, unless you’re the minuscule percentage of people living in a fairy tale, it doesn’t happen. Not this generation, not with independence. Also long distance never works because we’re all wired for immediate gratification. Anticipation (or patience) isn’t a virtue, even if I still believe it is.

There just comes a moment when you realize you’re no longer in sync. How can one person believe they’re funny and cute and another find it wrong and offensive? How can one person believe they’re helpful and another find it irritating?

But there is so much understanding–of idiosyncrasies and faults, of ideals and vulnerabilities. There is more understanding than anything like blood brothers. But, it’s all on what you were, not who you are now.

The last folly is why things dissolve.

Well, I think there are real life fairytales, but emphasis on the real life part. They don’t look like what we see on TV / in movies.

And I agree: What People Are vs. What People Were are two very very different things.
