BFFs Angie and Kristan blog about anything, everything, and sometimes even nothing.

Do as your mother says, or other people’s mothers say

by Angie

I finally visited the UWS (aka the Upper West Side) to put a deposit on an apartment at the office, and at the crosswalk I was waiting like every New Yorker on my crackberry. This woman’s voice (in every sense) says, “You are safe to cross.”

I looked up, then down at this little old lady (in every sense) and then cross with her. She then proceeds to tell me that I need to retrain myself in crossing streets with a phone. She didn’t want to see me cross and get hit by a car, so she was watching me. I thanked her for looking out for me and promised I would be careful.

See New Yorkers do look out for others.
