Kristan Student Andy Mangold sent in his redesign of the classic Monopoly game:

Isn’t it beautiful?! Too bad little kids mostly want screaming colors and star bursts and such. Although I do think my sense of aesthetics was developed enough as a child — i.e., I was the snotty daughter of two architects — that I would have preferred this.
Anyway, check out the original post at The Dieline for his reasoning and more photos.

Kristan Okay, I swear I’m not just ripping off Dooce, but we both happen to like Charley Harper a lot! In fact, I liked him before I knew she did. My mom came to visit and we went to the art museum and there was an exhibit of his stuff and I thought he was awesome. Seriously!
ANYWAY, Dooce posted about this new Charley Harper edition of the game Memory, which was my FAVORITE game as a child, and now I’m craving it.

Unfortunately, I have absolutely no need for it, especially since my own beloved version is at home. Maybe I’ll play when I’m back in Houston for the holidays…
