First what I wore to work post

by Angie

Just an outfit I wore to work. Normally I wouldn’t wear a longsleeve shirt underneath, but let’s face it, it’s cold here! The dress though has received tons of compliments, and I found it at Goodwill in Austin with Sandra when we were shopping for her MJ costume!

Dress: Goodwill find, belt vintage from New Bohemia in Austin (came with skirt), longsleeve shirt from Martin + Osa

Splurge: 2 new items for my fall wardrobe

by Kristan

After going to like 6 billion weddings (okay, divide by a billion, but still!) I realized that I am severely lacking in dresses. Also, I look GOOD in dresses! (Due to my short curvy body.) So now I’m on a mission to get a few more dresses that can work for multiple occasions.

At TJ Maxx, I saw this Be Bop purple grey color block dress (Fall 2009 on the website) and decided to spring for it. Here’s me wearing it two different ways, depending on the weather:

The high waist makes me look taller, and the slight poof to the skirt hides my hips. Overall slimming effect FTW!

I also bought this Mossimo brand washed hobo bag/tote (in yellow, obviously) from Target.

It’s great because it has tons of pockets, it’s comfy and easy to swing on/off, and my Macbook (13″ model) fits in it!! Actually that was my #1 requirement for my new purse. I also made sure it had a zipper closure (instead of a magnetic clasp) because even though laptops can probably withstand some minor magnetic forces, I’d just prefer to be safe.

Anyway, that was some $$ I probably didn’t need to spend. And yet, I’m quite glad I did.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure

by Angie

I scored this wrap dress from Mitza because she didn’t wear it anymore. The print is really fun and flattering, as many women have randomly told me, although judging from these pictures it’s actually kind of tight. I blame the camera phone, surprisingly with decent resolution.

Not so everyday fashion

by Angie

In spirit of Kristan’s fashion post, I figure might as well take the time to start posting some more outlandish ones of mine. I don’t know why I feel so self conscious about posting outfits, but here goes super pageant sparkly red dress (from here). The desert couldn’t touch me!

Everyday Fashion – Kristan, Aug 18, 2009

by Kristan

Sorry for the crappy picture quality, but I paired this new red striped H&M top that Angie gave me with a Rue 21 gray tank and my black Banana Republic pencil skirt, and I thought, Hey, I look kinda cute!

The medium-heeled wine red shoes were $30 at TJ Maxx, but I’ve worn out the brand name so I can’t tell you that, haha.

Here’s another crappy picture, but a better view of the heels (and the 5″ of hair I just chopped off): Read the rest of this entry »
