WHY 2 COLUMNS?
On the left side of our blog, we post thoughtful things - deep, funny, or personal. On the right side, we post beautiful things - often music, pictures, and video that we like.
Think of it as brain food + eye candy.
We think each is important in its own way, so we make sure you can easily see both!
I wanted to post You belong with me, because this is probably the one song I listen to the most these days…especially when I’m writing up a storm. (Almost done though!)
Yes, I dance in my apartment exactly like she does in the video. I don’t sing into a hairbrush though, but hey, I support any advocates of fairy tales and happy endings.
When Teardrops on My Guitar came out, I thought the song was just irritating, and still do. So I never gave Taylor Swift a fair chance. Kristan insisted she was great. And now, when I hear Love Story, I have to dance. Not to mention how often I croon White Horse and The Way I Loved You. Thus, I would like to recommend my current favorite, You’re Not Sorry, to all those out there who still need convincing that Fearless is a good album.
Heartbreak is real, but so are fairy tales and happy endings. Funny note, did I mention that Taylor Swift is 19?
I know I haven’t been the biggest fan of Taylor Swift (i.e., I hate Tears on My Guitar), but I’ve been listening to Fearless, her new album that was released that Kristan suggested, and I think I actually like it. In fact, I may love this song than many other songs I’ve heard recently: White Horse by Taylor Swift. I know it’s really popular, but hey I’m on the bandwagon now.
That I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it’s too late for you and your white horse To come around
Okay, she often wears too much makeup, but I think Taylor Swift looks absolutely stunning in the “Juliet” scenes of her new video, and I’m very much in love with this song at the moment.
I’m on a huge Taylor Swift kick right now. I was dubious at first, but I LOVE “Tim McGraw” and “Our Song,” and now I can’t stop listening to “The Outside” and this one, “Mary’s Song (My My My)”:
She’s adorable in interviews, clearly a talented lyricist, FIVE FOOT ELEVEN, and just a whole lotta fun.
