Sex and the City meets Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

by Kristan

That’s how I’ve been describing my original fiction series Twenty-Somewhere. I’m happy to announce that 20SW is now available for anyone with a Kindle or iPhone/iPod Touch via the Amazon website! There are 24 episodes up so far, 4 more already written, and 12 more to go to finish out the year.

Here are the covers I designed for each “bundle” of episodes:

20SWcover0104 20SWcover0508 20SWcover0912

20SWcover1316 20SWcover1720 20SWcover2124

I like to think that these covers capture the fun and vibrancy of the main characters — MJ, Sophie, and Claudia — as well as the suggestion of romance and adventure that these young women are living out. It’s not all puppies and rainbows, but I really enjoy writing these stories so I hope you will enjoy reading them!

Twenty-Somewhere, Episode 11

by Kristan

[ Last week's episode: "Taking the long way" ]

After a brief trip home for the holidays, MJ is back in the UK and ready to start the research portion of her graduate studies. Well, sort of ready.

“Come on already!” Felix raps her door again impatiently.

“Alright alright!” MJ appears in a huff, glaring at him as she turns to lock up her room. “You know, I’ve been six hours behind for the past two weeks. You should be thankful I woke up at all this morning. It’s 1 a.m. inside my brain.”

“Then we should probably get you some coffee, huh?”

MJ nods like a bobble-head.

Twenty-Somewhere, Episode 10

by Kristan

[ Last week's episode: "Auld lang syne" ]

“Late late late!”

Eli watches Claudia with a bemused expression as she dashes past him into the bathroom, her hair falling out of a braid, one leg of a black stocking trailing behind its partner.

“Big date?” he asks, taking a sip from his mug of coffee.

“Har har. You know I’m meeting up with that creative writing professor. The one that published three acclaimed novels in the past two years?”

“Ah yes, the literary Wizard of Oz. I forgot that was today.”

“Me too!” she cries. “I’m going to be late.”

Twenty-Somewhere, Episode 9

by Kristan

[ Last week's episode: "Spread the holiday cheer" ]

Since leaving for college five years ago, MJ, Claudia, and Sophie have always tried to schedule a sleepover whenever they are all back in town. For this winter holiday, MJ and Claudia are keeping that tradition, but Sophie has a New Year’s Eve party for work that, politically, she must attend.

Twenty-Somewhere, Episode 8

by Kristan

[ Last week's episode: "The new kid in the cubes" ]

Ah, the holiday season. A time of joy and laughter and relaxation. Days full of mirth and miracles and magic. A period of reflection, introspection, and appreciation. The most wonderful time of the year!

Until you turn twenty.

After that, it’s the rigors of end-of-term exams, or the hassle of traveling home via crowded airports and interstates, or the stress of finding fabulous gifts for all your family and friends – without zeroing out your bank account. Growing up is the difference between believing in Santa Claus and being Santa Claus.
