BFFs Angie and Kristan blog about anything, everything, and sometimes even nothing.

Always say we’re gonna stop

by Kristan

I’m totally loving Katy Perry’s new album, Teenage Dream. (Granted, I loved her first album too…) There’s a healthy mix of fun and serious, sex and love, jam and groove. ”Circle the Drain,” “Teenage Dream,” and “Last Friday Night” are probably my favorites, but the latter is definitely the most fun. I mean, just listen!

Last Friday night
Yeah we danced on tabletops
And we took too many shots
Think we kissed but I forgot

Last Friday night
Yeah we maxed our credit cards
And got kicked out of the bar
So we hit the boulevard

Last Friday night
We went streaking in the park
Skinny dipping in the dark
Then had a menage a trois

Last Friday night
Yeah I think we broke the law
Always say we’re gonna stop
This Friday night (do it all again)
This Friday night (do it all again)

(Maybe I just like to live vicariously through my music, since I’m so boring/square, hehehe.)

Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too so I stayed in the darkness with you

I’m a little late on knowing Florence + The Machine, but have you ever heard a more amazing album than Lungs! She is fantastic, if you couldn’t tell from her music videos and of course her voice.

I step right into the flames where you hide

by Angie

It’s a two-fer. I’ve been jamming to Swedish band Ceo, and they have this cool techno-infused melodic cheery I don’t know how to describe sound. whatever it is, it’s perfect for a boost in the afternoon slump while you work or a pick-me-up run. One of my favorites is Illuminata, but you can also download from rcrd lbl Everything is gonna be alright and Come with me.  The same sound exists with Karl X Johnan’s Flames, which you can also get here.

I LOVE this performance of Animal by Neon Trees. To be honest, the lryics are meh, but the song is catchy and, well, this performance is amazing!

Advertising + heart = success

by Kristan

Angie and I both have immigrant parents (I have 1, she has 2) so I think this new Google commercial really hits home for us. But parents and children of any type should be able to appreciate the idea of love and sacrifice.

Yes, this made me cry.
